RVL Playoff tiebreakers

Article 11 - Playoffs
 
  1. All teams in good standing shall be eligible for RVL Playoffs. The members shall determine the method and dates of post-season play before the season begins.
  2. The period of the RVL playoffs will work within the time frames of MBA regional, sectional and state tournament play.
  3. Teams will be allowed to draft players per MBA rules for regional and sectional play. If a player refuses to play with a team that drafts him, he is ineligible to play with any other team that season. The draft reverts to the place where the refusal took place.
  4. RVL playoff games are required to go nine innings and are resumed from the point of interruption should play be suspended if game not completed. If the game has gone five innings, the trailing team has the right to forgo the completion of the game. 10-run rule also applies.
  5. The system for tie-breakers for all positions in the standings shall be:
           Head-to-head records
  1. Records within the Class, or then League/Division (if possible).
  2. Run Differential Between Tied Teams in Head-to-Head Games.
  3. Records against the non-tied teams from top of overall RVL standings position to Teams Tied.
  4. Flip of the coin.
  1. >> Night playoff games to be played under lighted conditions.  The members will determine starting times
  2. >> Home team is responsible for all game expenses (balls, lights, umpires, field, etc.) and retains all receipts.
